ANP defines areas to be offered in the 6th Open Acreage Concession Cycle and the 4th Open Acreage Production Sharing Cycle

On August 6, 2026, ANP’s Special Bidding Committee announced the sectors and blocks to be offered in the 6th Open Acreage Concession Cycle (“OPC6”) (link) and the 4th Open Acreage Production Sharing Cycle (“OPP4”) (link). The public bid presentation sessions for both bidding rounds are scheduled for October 7, 2026.

Under OPC6, 22 sectors comprising exploration blocks and two sectors comprising areas with marginal accumulations will be offered. The selected sectors received declarations of interest, accompanied by the corresponding bid guarantees, from 12 companies with active registrations in the process.

Under OPP4, 13 blocks located in the Campos and Santos basins will be offered. In the Campos Basin, the Azurita, Hematita, Larimar, Magnetita and Turmalina blocks will be offered; and in the Santos Basin, the Aragonita, Cerussita, Cruzeiro do Sul, Granada, Jade, Opala, Rodocrosita and Rubi blocks will be offered. The blocks received declarations of interest, accompanied by bid guarantees, from six companies with active registrations.

The figures above do not necessarily correspond to the final number of participants in the bidding rounds. According to ANP, 46 companies have active registrations for OPC6 and 19 companies are eligible to participate in OPP4. An active registration allows a company to participate in the relevant cycle but does not necessarily imply that it will submit a bid.

Companies with active registrations may, until August 31, 2026, submit additional declarations of interest, accompanied by the corresponding bid guarantees, for sectors or blocks already included in the respective cycles. Companies that have already submitted declarations of interest may also expand their participation by submitting additional declarations and guarantees. In turn, bidders with active registrations that do not submit a declaration of interest by that date may still participate in the bidding process through a consortium with a company that has expressed interest in the relevant sector or block, subject to the rules set forth in the applicable tender protocols.

According to the schedules released by ANP, following the public sessions scheduled for October 7, successful bidders will have until October 14, 2026, to submit their qualification documents. The award and ratification of the results are expected to take place by November 18, 2026, and the concession and production sharing agreements are expected to be executed by February 26, 2027.
