MME received contributions on the National Mining Plan 2050
On 01/09/2026, through MME Ordinance dated 01/09/2026, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) submitted the draft National Mining Plan 2050 (Plano Nacional de Mineração 2050 – PNM 2050) to Public Consultation, with the purpose of receiving input and contributions for its improvement.
PNM objective: PNM 2050 sets guidelines for long-term planning of Brazil’s mining sector, informing medium- and long-term public policies aimed at developing mining activities. The plan is also expected to contribute to the formulation of future Multiannual Plans (Planos Plurianuais – PPAs) related to the sector.
PNM pillars: the plan is structured around three core pillars: (i) sustainability and social value; (ii) responsible use of mineral resources; and (iii) strategic governance.
Contributions: contributions to the Public Consultation could be submitted through the MME platform until 02/08/2026. Guidance and specific information on the participation process are available on the Ministry’s platform.
