Lefosse, one of Brazil’s largest full-service law firms, announces the promotion of three professionals to partners: Luana Torres, Gabriel Queiroz and Rafael Martins, in the practices of Corporate and M&A, White-Collar Crime, and Oil and Gas, respectively.

Luana Torres, partner of the Corporate and M&A practice, advises a wide range of investors and companies on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, as well as private equity and venture capital investments and cross-border transactions. She also has extensive experience in the planning and structuring of foreign investments in Brazil, with notable expertise in complex contractual arrangements and corporate governance matters. Luana worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York. She holds an LL.B. from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and completed part of her academic training at Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. She also holds an LL.M. in Contract Law from Insper and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where she was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.

Gabriel Queiroz, partner of the White-Collar Crime practice, has more than a decade of experience defending corporate clients in criminal proceedings and investigations. Director of the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences. Current coordinator of the Criminal Law Committee of the Study Center of Law Firms. President of the Commission on Criminal Procedural Law of the Brazil Bar Association OAB-Pinheiros. Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo – PUC), international course in Economic and European Criminal Law at the University of Coimbra and IBCCrim and crisis management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Rafael Martins, partner of the Oil and Gas practice, has more than 15 years of experience as a lawyer in leading law firms and companies operating in regulated sectors of the economy – including natural gas, infrastructure, and energy – he has held key positions such as Head of Legal at Edge, the natural gas trading company of the Cosan Group, and TRSP, the operator of São Paulo’s LNG regasification terminal. Additionally, he was one of the legal department leaders at Yara, the Norwegian multinational chemical company, which ranks among Brazil’s largest industrial consumers of gas. His expertise spans contract negotiation, project structuring and development, regulatory and legal analysis, as well as M&A and debt transactions. He is also the author of articles on Regulatory Law topics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and an LLM in Business Law and Practice from CEU Law School.
