Introduction

The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) has published, through Ordinance No. 878/2025, the guidelines and procedures for the first auction to contract energy storage systems using batteries, scheduled for April 2026.

The LRCAP 2026 will allow companies to operate battery systems to store and release energy as needed by the National Interconnected System (SIN).
