Lefosse, one of Brazil’s leading full-service law firms, has just announced the expansion of its Investment Funds practice with the arrival of new partner Felipe Paiva. The firm aims to expand its position as a strategic partner for local and foreign fund managers, fund administrators, investment banks, and institutional investors.
“The strategy is to consolidate our Investment Funds practice, which is already a benchmark in the market, with a focus on legal innovation and anticipating the regulatory needs of our clients. We will strengthen our practice in structured transactions, focusing on recent regulatory changes, such as those of CVM Resolution 175 (Brazil’s new regulatory investment funds framework) and the new tax framework for investments funds, as well as exploring opportunities in connection with innovative financial products, especially alternative and sustainable assets,” says Felipe.
The new partner specializes in advising financial institutions, asset managers, fund administrators, and other types of sponsors in structuring investment funds, including equity funds (FIPs), credit rights funds (FIDCs), real estate funds (FIIs) and agro-industrial funds (FIAGROs). Felipe also handles the negotiation of complex legal instruments with respect to setting up fund structures, as well as provides regulatory advice in the incorporation and accreditation of fund managers with the CVM and ANBIMA.
