Lefosse expands its Restructuring and Insolvency practice with the arrival of three new partners
Fábio Rosas, Bernardo Carneiro, and José Luis de Rosa join us to further strengthen our multidisciplinary full-service offering
Lefosse announces the arrival of three new partners to expand our Restructuring and Insolvency practice (R&I): Fábio Rosas, Bernardo Carneiro, and José Luis de Rosa. These join our partners Roberto Zarour Filho and Felipe Camara, strengthening our firm’s strategic and litigation advisory in R&I, with a focus on representing clients in restructurings, debt renegotiations, distressed mergers and acquisitions, in addition to judicial and extrajudicial reorganizations in synergy with our other practices.
Our R&I team focuses on strategic cases and transactions: after the amendments to the Reorganization and Bankruptcy Law of 2021, which improved procedures, introduced more certainty regarding successor liability, in addition to tax benefits on asset sales, the legal framework improved, contributing to new solutions and attracting more investors and other players to the distressed market. Simultaneously, more and more independent and capitalized investors show interest in investing in this asset class.
“Our new partners are versatile lawyers, who combine experience and deep knowledge of R&I matters and distressed transactions. They complement our renowned participation in groundbreaking and complex deals, strengthen our assistance to clients in strategic investment opportunities, and offer liquidity and alternatives for companies in distress,” says Rodrigo Junqueira, Lefosse managing partner.
Fábio Rosas has vast experience in legal and administrative proceedings, arbitrations, advisory and business mediations, with a focus on judicial and extrajudicial reorganizations, as well disputes involving corporate law, contract and business and banking and financing transactions. He represents financial institutions, creditors, lenders, and investors in restructurings, judicial and extrajudicial reorganizations, and distressed mergers and acquisitions and asset sales. He holds a law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)
Bernardo Carneiro has experience in representing large financial institutions and investors in restructurings and judicial and extrajudicial reorganizations, including mergers and acquisitions and DIP lending and credit recovery, in addition to a long experience in business law with emphasis on debt transactions, including securitization, acquisition financing, and structured debts. In addition to the practicing law, he worked as an executive, financial advisor, investor, and entrepreneur. He holds a law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-RJ), and MBA in Corporate Finance from IBMEC Business School of Rio de Janeiro.
José Luis de Rosa has more than 15 years of experience in high yield and distressed M&A transactions, as well as disputes in distressed and insolvency scenarios related to financial, corporate, and commercial matters in multiple industries, including infrastructure, telecommunication, mining, civil construction, energy, transportation and agribusiness. He holds a law degree from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), specialized studies in Civil Procedural Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), and master’s degree in Business Law from Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
With these new arrivals, Lefosse now has 59 partners and more than 390 legal professionals, totaling 590 persons when including its administrative area (Business Services).
Recognized by the main directories as a highly relevant law firm in Brazil, Lefosse has expanded its partnership in recent years, opening and investing in practices such as Life Sciences & Healthcare, Indirect Taxes and Customs Law, Insurance and Reinsurance, Energy and Infrastructure, Litigation and Arbitration, and Real Estate.
