Lefosse, one of Brazil’s leading law firms, announced today the promotion of three professionals to partners \u2013 M\u00f4nica Murayama<\/strong>, Pedro Cruciol<\/strong> e Rafaela Canito<\/strong> \u2013 reinforcing the expertise<\/em> in the areas of Dispute Resolution<\/strong>, Capital Markets<\/strong> and Tax<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our professionals have a notable reputation in the market and are recognized for their broad experience and in-depth knowledge of our clients’ sectors, having contributed strategically to strengthening their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the announcement, Lefosse now has 69 partners, totaling more than 600 professionals in the legal and administrative areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0M\u00f4nica Murayama<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monica has been practicing for more than ten years in highly complex litigation (with an emphasis on domestic and international arbitration), with a special focus on disputes involving States and State entities, construction and infrastructure contracts, corporate and M&A matters. Before joining Lefosse, she worked in law firms in S\u00e3o Paulo and Washington, DC. M\u00f4nica holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University, an LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from Sciences Po, and a Diploma in Public and Private International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law. <\/strong>Qualified lawyer in Brazil and in the State of New York (New York State Bar Association).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pedro Cruciol<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pedro has extensive experience in capital market transactions, debt restructuring and financing, having advised issuers and debtors, as well as underwriters and creditors, in transactions in Brazil and abroad. He has also worked as an international associate at Davis Polk, in New York, focusing on the capital markets area. In addition to his office experience, he has worked in a secondment as in-house counsel for a top-tier financial institution. He obtained his Bachelors in Law degree from Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do Paran\u00e1 (PUC\/PR) and has financial and capital markets specializations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rafaela Canito<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 17 years of experience working in the legal field, Rafaela specializes in business tax structuring, focusing on consumption taxation in regulated and infrastructure markets, particularly in the energy, gas and oil, mining, and telecommunications sectors. Due to her multidisciplinary background, the partner has been actively involved in issues related to the Brazilian tax reform, supporting clients both in technical aspects and in the practical implementation of the new rules. Rafaela is a member of the Pro Bono Advocacy Committee at Lefosse and a member of Infra Women Brazil (IWB), a non-profit group dedicated to promoting and encouraging the presence of women in the infrastructure sector. Graduated in Law from UERJ (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro), with a postgraduate degree in Financial and Tax Law from UFF (Universidade Federal Fluminense), an MBA in Project Management from USP (Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo), and an MBA in Law and Regulation of the Electric Sector from IDP (Instituto Brasiliense de Direito P\u00fablico).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
